Pisa, 4 luglio 2022 – Quest’estate il borgo rurale di Coltano, alle porte della città di Pisa, prenderà vita per un intero fine settimana, dal 15 al 17 luglio, grazie al ritorno del Festival ‘110 HERTZ – seconda edizione’, organizzato dall’associazione Binario Vivo, con il Patrocinio del Comune di Pisa e in collaborazione con Code per Curiosi, The Events, Pro Loco di Coltano e Chicchi d’Uva. Il palcoscenico naturale nell’area boschiva e nei prati intorno alla Villa Medicea ospiterà un ricco programma di eventi all’aperto, nel completo rispetto dell’ambiente circostante, per celebrare i 111 anni dall’inaugurazione della Stazione Radiotelegrafica Guglielmo Marconi che ha segnato una rivoluzione in termini di comunicazione. “L’edizione 2022 – spiega il direttore del Festival, Carlo Scorrano – ha tre linee portanti che ne rappresentano l’essenza: la radio come mezzo di comunicazione e di relazione, il connubio tra arte, spettacolo e natura, ed essendo la cultura un interlocutore diretto della società, la tematica della Pace e dell’integrazione tra i popoli”.

Sarà un grande ritorno a casa della radio, con ‘Good Morning, Coltano’, la trasmissione live che trasmetterà ogni giorno dalle 18 alle 22, con il supporto tecnico di Michele Neri di WeRadio (Bologna) e interagirà in tempo reale con gli altri eventi. Sarà presente il prof.  Filippo Giannetti, docente di Telecomunicazioni presso l‘Università di Pisa, studioso marconiano e presidente del comitato scientifico dell’associazione Marconi Labs Coltano.  Nel palinsesto si spazierà quindi dalla divulgazione scientifica, alla peculiare storia del luogo di Coltano, agli incontri, talks e interviste con artisti nazionali e internazionali, al DJ set curato da Dj Karim, con una speciale selezione dedicata alla Black Music. Sarà presente Matteo Frasca, pedagogista e educatore musicale, con Radio Freccia Azzurra, per parlare di progetti legati all’infanzia e che danno voce al punto di vista dei bambini. Si parlerà anche di cura, in senso lato, e dell’attivazione di processi partecipativi legati agli spazi e alle comunità che li abitano, con la direttrice della Fondazione per l’Architettura / Torino, Eleonora Gerbotto, e con Chiara Organtini, direttrice della Lavanderia a Vapore di Collegno (TO). Inoltre, sarà trattato il rapporto tra l’Uomo e la Natura, con un focus sulle comunità indigene del Chiapas e il contributo dell’attivista Diana Itzu Luna della rete Ajmaq. Si darà voce anche al progetto Streetto, un’associazione no profit nata nel 2021 in Sicilia, la cui missione è quella di ripopolare il borgo di Cammarata (AG), decidendo di non partire ma di restare nei luoghi dove sono nati e cresciuti, favorendo una rigenerazione culturale e umana dall’interno. Infine ascolteremo la voce di Max Mautone, manager culturale con una vasta esperienza sia in enti pubblici che privati, che ci parlerà del progetto BLOC, un festival diffuso che giunge quest’anno alla sua seconda edizione, nel Parco Nazionale del Cilento; un’altra coraggiosa impresa che mostra come le aree rurali più periferiche possano diventare protagoniste di una ricca offerta culturale. Gli interventi saranno rilanciati dalle web radio partner del progetto, quali Claremorris Community Radio 94.6fm, dall’Irlanda, Radio Keith F’em, da Berlino, oltre che alle radio partner italiane, quali Radio Coltano Marconi, che offre gli spazi dove avrà sede la postazione radio durante il festival, Radio 3 Network, di Poggibonsi (SI), Radio Sankara, con sede a Viareggio (LU), e infine Radio Sherwood, storica emittente, fondata a Padova nel 1976 e tra le prime radio libere italiane. Il coordinamento della rete webradio è curato da Code per Curiosi APS, neonata associazione no profit che si occupa di arti performative nelle zone rurali, remote, periferiche. Oltre alla radio, una parte del festival sarà dedicata anche all’attualità con la mostra di fotogiornalismo curata dall’associazione Lumen. 

‘110 Hertz Festival – seconda edizione’ prevede anche una ricca rassegna di presentazioni di libri al Circolo Arci di Coltano. Si parte venerdì 15 luglio alle 18 con ‘Uomini di pietra’, un romanzo storico di Nicola Iacopetti (Porto Seguro Editore); si prosegue sabato 16 alle 18 con “Aloha!” di Luca Poli (Carmignano Editore); infine domenica 17 luglio alle 18 sarà la volta di “I Rom. Una storia” di Sergio Bontempelli (Carocci Editore). Non solo libri, ma il festival offrirà anche trekking nel parco, teatro, yoga all’ombra dei grandi alberi secolari e visite libere al Museo della radio presso la villa Medicea. Ma anche tanto spettacolo per grandi e piccini, ogni giorno dalle 19 alle 22, con artisti di strada tra cui il clown Giulivo, il giocoliere Dr Stock, il cantastorie Felice Pantone, le performance aeree di Antitesi Teatro Circo, le bolle di sapone di Fabio Saccomani e le performance musicali di Lullo Mosso e Lorenzo Sansoni.  Uno spazio, invece, sarà dedicato all’esposizione di prodotti a chilometro zero per promuovere le eccellenze del nostro territorio, oltre ad un’area ristoro con food truck, attrezzata per godersi una cena all’aria aperta. 

Nel particolare spazio della “Coffee House”, la coreografa e danzatrice Marianna Miozzo presenterà “Litost- The otherness”, insieme con un musicista che suonerà dal vivo; una performance di teatro danza creata tra l’Europa e la Palestina, dove il muro rappresenta  l’oggetto archetipico simbolo del desiderio di evitare il confronto con l’altro, portando con sé, allo stesso tempo, la possibilità diametralmente opposta di essere buttato giù, aggirato, infine di compiere un atto che renda possibile l’incontro.

Al calar del sole, si apriranno le danze sui ritmi della world music e del folk, con concerti all’insegna dell’integrazione tra i popoli e della pace. Ad aprire il festival, venerdì 15 luglio alle 22, sarà Riserva Moac, una band con un sound che trascende le frontiere spaziando dalla World Music, al Balkan, all’Irish, alla Patchanka. Sabato 16 luglio, sempre alle 22, sarà la volta di Sandro Joyeux, un concentrato di energia e allegria attraverso i ritmi del deserto e delle strade polverose del West Africa, con riferimenti espliciti alla musica da strada delle banlieues parigine e il reggae dei ghetti giamaicani. Infine, chiuderà il festival, domenica 17 luglio alle 22, Acquaragia Drom, gruppo storico della musica popolare italiana. Una miscela vibrante ed ironica, tra un saltarello della tradizione popolare, un unza unza di stile balcanico e una travolgente serenata sinti.

Durante i tre giorni di festival sarà inoltre possibile visitare il Museo della Villa Medicea, e la mostra di due artisti contemporanei attivi e presenti nel nostro territorio, intitolata Ingegnerie e trasparenze. La belga Sabine Cez, che nasce come grafica e scultrice, con esperienza nella saldatura e nella lavorazione artigianale del ferro, si dedica negli anni più recenti alla stampa su tessuti e altri materiali non convenzionali; il pisano Alessio Pazzini, attivo per molti anni nei laboratori di Pietrasanta (LU) come scultore specializzato in opere di grandi dimensioni e in diversi materiali quali marmo bronzo, terracotta, esposte in spazi pubblici e musei in Africa, negli USA e in Canada, negli ultimi anni si dedica alla realizzazione di opere proprie in terracotta e altri materiali.

Pisa, 9th of July 2022 – This summer the rural village of Coltano, just outside the city of Pisa, Tuscany, will come to life for an entire weekend, from the 15th to the 17th of July, thanks to the return of the ‘110 HERTZ’ Festival – second edition, organised by the Binario Vivo association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa and in collaboration with Code per Curiosi, The Events, Pro Loco of Coltano and Chicchi d’Uva. 

The natural stage in the wooded area and in the meadows around the Villa Medici will host a rich program of outdoor events, in complete respect of the surrounding environment, to celebrate the 111^th anniversary of the inauguration of the Guglielmo Marconi Radio-Telegraphic Station, which marked a revolution in terms of communication. 

“The 2022 edition – explains the director of the Festival, Carlo Scorrano – has three main lines that represent it: Radio as a means of communication and creating relationships, the combination of Art, Live Shows and Nature, and Culture being a direct interlocutor of the Society, moreover, the theme of Peace and integration between people from different territories and countries”.

It will be a great homecoming for the radio with ‘Good Morning, Coltano’, the live broadcast on air every day from 6 to 10 pm, with the technical support of Michele Neri from WeRadio (Bologna) and interacting in real time with the other events. Prof. Filippo Giannetti, professor of Telecommunications at the University of Pisa, expert scholar of Marconi and president of the scientific committee of the Marconi Labs Coltano association will also be present at the event. The schedule will therefore range from scientific dissemination to the history of Coltano, also including meetings, talks and interviews with national and international artists, plus the DJ set curated by Dj Karim, with a special Black Music selection. Matteo Frasca, pedagogist and music educator, will be present with Radio Freccia Azzurra, to talk about projects related to childhood and which give voice to the point of view of children. We will also talk about care, in a broad sense, and about the activation of participatory processes linked to the spaces and communities that inhabit them, with the director of the Fondazione per l’Architettura / Torino (Turin), Eleonora Gerbotto, and with Chiara Organtini, director of the Lavanderia a Vapore of Collegno (Turin).

In addition, the relationship between Humankind and Nature will be tackled, with a focus on the indigenous communities of Chiapas and the contribution of the activist Diana Itzu Luna from the Ajmaq network. Finally, will take the stage the Streetto project, a non-profit association born in 2021 in Sicily, whose mission is to repopulate the village of Cammarata (AG) by deciding not to leave but to stay in the places where they were born and raised, favouring a cultural and human regeneration from within. The interventions will also be promoted by the web radio partners of the project, such as Claremorris Community Radio 94.6fm, from Ireland, Radio Keith F’em, from Berlin, as well as to the Italian radio partners, such as Radio Coltano Marconi, which offers the spaces where the radio will be stationed during the festival, along with Radio 3 Network, from Poggibonsi (Siena), Radio Sankara, based in Viareggio (Lucca), and finally Radio Sherwood, longtime broadcaster, founded in Padua in 1976 and one of the first Italian free radios. The coordination of the web radio network is managed by Code per Curiosi APS, a recently founded non-profit association that deals with performing arts in rural, remote and peri-urban areas, based in Camaiore (LU). In addition to the radio, part of the festival will also be dedicated to reportage with the photojournalism exhibition curated by the Lumen association.

‘110 Hertz’ Festival – second edition also includes a plentiful calendar of book presentations at the Circolo Arci of Coltano. It starts on Friday the 15th of July at 6 pm with “Uomini di Pietra”, a historical novel by Nicola Iacopetti (Porto Seguro Editore); it continues Saturday the 16th of July at 6 pm with “Aloha!” by Luca Poli (Carmignano Editore); finally, Sunday the 17th of July at 6 pm the presentation will be of “I Rom. Una storia”, by Sergio Bontempelli (Carocci Editore). The festival will also offer trekking activities in the park, theatre, yoga in the shade of large ancient trees and free visits to the Museo della Radio in the Villa Medicea. Alongside, a lot of shows for all ages, every day from 7 to 10 pm, with street artists including the clown Giulivo, the juggler Dr Stock, the storyteller Felice Pantone, the aerial performances of Antitesi Teatro Circo, the bubbles show of Fabio Saccomani and the musical performances of Lullo Mosso and Lorenzo Sansoni. Plus, an area will be dedicated to the display of zero-kilometre products to promote the excellences of the territory of Pisa, as well as a refreshment area with food trucks, equipped for enjoying an outdoor dinner.

In the peculiar space of the “coffee house”, the choreographer and dancer Marianna Miozzo will present “Litost- The otherness” together with a musician playing live; a dance-theatre performance where the wall is the archetypal object that represents the desire to avoid confrontation with the otherness and at the same time it always brings with it the diametrically opposed possibility of being shot down, bypassed, essentially to commit acts that make possible an encounter. The artist has created the piece between Europe and Palestine.

When the sun goes down, the dance will open to the rhythms of world music and folk, with concerts dedicated to the relationship between People and Peace. 

On Friday the 15th of July at 10 pm, Riserva Moac will open the festival; it is a band with a sound that transcends borders, ranging from World Music, to Balkan, to Irish, to the Patchanka style. On Saturday the 16th of July, at 10 pm, the singer Sandro Joyeux will perform, in a mix of energy and joy through the rhythms of the desert and the dusty streets of West Africa, with explicit references to the street music of the Parisian suburbs and the reggae of the Jamaican ghettos. Finally, the festival will close on Sunday July 17 at 10 pm, with Acquaragia Drom, a historical band of Italian popular music. A vibrant and ironic mix between a traditional popular saltarello, a Balkan-style unza unza and an overwhelming Sinti serenade.

Finally, during the three days of the festival it will also be possible to visit the Museum of the Medici Villa, and the exhibition of two contemporary artists active and present in our territory, entitled Ingegnerie e transparenze. The Belgian Sabine Cez, who started her career as a graphic designer and sculptor, with experience in welding and craftsmanship of iron, in more recent years has dedicated herself to printing on fabrics and other unconventional materials; the artist Alessio Pazzini, from Pisa, active for many years in the laboratories of Pietrasanta (LU) as a sculptor specialising in large works and in different materials such as marble, bronze, terracotta, exhibited in public spaces and museums in Africa, the USA and Canada, lately has dedicated himself to the creation of his own works in terracotta and other materials.
